Sue Berwanger Sue was born in Bhutan while her mother was on a fact-finding trip with a senior senator from Virginia. At the age of six she became lost while on a family camping trip in the rift valley of Africa. Seven years later, seemingly unhurt, she walked into the camp of a British archeological expedition at the base of Victoria Falls. She has never spoken of those years but shows a strong aversion to zoos. Sue attended American University (Washington, DC), University of Yaounde (Cameroon), University of the Amazons (Brazil) and the Center for Advanced Survival Studies (University of Algiers). She came to us with amost three decades of newspaper and newsprint experience, including La Libertad (Barranquilla, Columbia) and Presse (Port Vila, Vanautu). She was instrumental in the formation of Le Renouveau (Tunis, Tunisia). Although we all wear many hats, Sue’s primary responsibilities are crowd control, vendor retribution and making sure the liquor cabinet is stocked. Her skills include number slinging and negotiating until they cry for mamma/beg for mercy. |
